Great Britain Deaf Football was recently honoured to welcome Chloé Crooks, Chair of Fundraising at the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust, to a fixture hosted by our women’s squad. The match took place on 13 July at Long Eaton FC, where the GB Deaf Women’s Football Team delivered an outstanding performance, claiming a 3–1 victory against Long Eaton in a friendly match.
Chloé’s visit was more than just a show of support; it marked a moment of celebration for an incredibly generous contribution from the Trust. Great Britain Deaf Football has been awarded a total of £10,000, with £5,000 allocated to the men’s squad and £5,000 to the women’s squad. These grants will go directly towards covering participation fees for all players and officials attending the 2025 Deaflympics in Japan.
Following the match, Chloé spent time with the players and coaching staff, who were keen to express their thanks in person. This funding provides vital financial relief as we prepare to represent Great Britain on the world stage next year.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust for their generous support,” said Claire Stancliffe, Operations Director at GBDF. “These grants help relieve some of the financial pressures our athletes and officials face by covering participation fees for Japan. It was a pleasure to welcome Chloé to the match and share the excitement of what lies ahead.”
The Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust shared their own thoughts on social media, posting:
